Incredible India

Join Sonoma’s Halleck Vineyard on this life changing trip to photograph the tigers of India. You will explore the wonders of this vibrant country and share your passion for wine with fellow enthusiasts. This exclusive trip goes beyond the typical travel experience, allowing you to build meaningful and lasting friendships within a community of like-minded wine lovers.

The excitement of seeing a tiger in the wild compels us! We will be staying in some of the finest safari lodges and hotels in India and visiting the top tiger nature reserves in the world. Many other species are also encountered. Join us on this adventure of a lifetime.

With only approximately three thousand tigers remaining in the wild, they are a species that creates an experience like no other. The challenge is the focus of this adventure. We’ll be trying to select the best places, learning their movements, spotting the cubs, and identifying the areas under the stress of a new male taking over. We have the best guides and will be coached by world renowned wildlife photographer, Kevin Dooley.

This is our first trip to India with Kevin, but our fourth photo safari under his leadership. In each trip Kevin takes to India, there are a few great images, and a lot of searching.

However, when it all comes together, eye contact is made, a tiger walks towards your point of view, two or more tigers interact and your shutter sings, you resound; nature has given you the gift of a wonderful tiger image. The tiger is a species that draws you in and fills your soul with goosebumps and adrenalin.

This adventure speaks of truly being alive.

Coupled with the safari, we will have a guided trip to and around the Taj Mahal, again, searching for that perfect image.

A big part of Halleck Vineyard building community is our philanthropic effort. We will begin our journey with a tour through one of our most successful and deserving charities in the heart of Delhi, The Hope Project of India.

It’s located in the “urban village”of Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, a 12th century enclave. We’ll be guided by the Executive Director, Samiur Rahman, a trained social worker with a masters degree from Delhi University. We have been supporting the Hope Project for 6 years. Samiur has visited Halleck Vineyard and this will be our first time to be his guest and see the results of our support.

To punctuate our travels, we will be enjoying Halleck Vineyard wines along the way. Join Halleck Vineyard and discover a world where wine, friendship, and exploration intertwine in unforgettable ways

Tigers of India - Private Group

Join us on this life changing trip to photograph the tigers of India. I can not express the excitement of seeing a tiger in the wild. We will be staying in some of the finest safari lodges and hotels in India and visiting the top tiger nature reserves in the world. Many other species are also encountered. Join us on this adventure of a lifetime.

The funny thing about Tigers, with only approximately three thousand remaining in the wild, they are a species that creates an experience like no other. I find them almost addicting. No matter how much I have learned over the last several years, the challenge never ends. Trying to select the best places, learning their movements, the cubs, and the areas under the stress of a new male taking over. Finding the best guides and trying to place all the lessons I learned in wildlife and guiding collage into play.
It seems that in each and every year of pursuing tigers, there are a few great images, a lot of searching, and days of extreme happiness and other days where we hope for a more productive tomorrow.
Indeed there is finding tigers, and there is finding tigers that are in great locations to photograph. There are times when the bushes are just too thick and the frustration is overwhelming. There are times when dust covers the air and focus becomes difficult. There are times when you just have to put down the camera and enjoy the activity, with no clear area to photograph.
However, when it all comes together, when eye contact is made, when a tiger walks towards your point of view, when two or more tigers interact and your shutter sings, when nature has given you the true gift of a wonderful tiger image. This is when you know that giving up is never an option, that the Tiger is a species that draws you in and fills your soul with goosebumps and pure adrenalin.
Indeed great tiger images don’t come easy, but they are so easy on your mind, so pure, so fulfilling,, so absolutely wonderful.
As long as I can do it, I will. It’s just too important and to amazing to give up this journey, this adventure, this part of life that speaks of truly being alive.
