Tasting Notes:
The 2021 Little Sister Sauvignon Blanc is French-style, modeled after a crisp, but rich Sancerre. It leads with the characteristic earthy nose of Sancerre: notes of lemon and floral tones complemented by a touch of sea breeze with the hint of cat-pee. The feral nose gives way to classic neutral citrus notes on the palate, full and flavorful. The delivery yields bright acidity for those warm days and light dishes, offering a mid-palate of flinty minerality, a hint of tart pineapple, passion fruit, and salinity on the back palate. The finish is crisp, long and lingering, for which Halleck Vineyard wines are noted.
Winemaking:
This wine was fermented in steel tanks and 20% of the total spent three weeks in neutral oak. There was no malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, all wine was tank aged until bottling.
